My name is Jim Jenkins and I pitched in the high school championship game at Griffith Stadium in 1961. I went on to pitch with the Mets and played on three teams with Nolan Ryan

I remember Jim Jenkins whose previous post I just read. He also played in the 1962 semi final game and went on to pitch for Maryland. Our paths crossed many times in high school and summer league ball. I pitched for Wilson from 1961-1963 and then briefly for east Carolina. Kent Feddeman, winning pitcher in both semi final and championship games in 1962. Those were wonderful times. Complete games with no pitch counts.

I was on the squad in '61, although did not get to play against Phelps or Anacostia. Sat on the dugout steps @ Griffith and chewed gum. Don't think Mr. Heintel cared for me that much but tough for him.
In the Phelps game, our SS Frank Williams (RIP) smashed a triple to left-center field, hit the wall on one hop. Not bad for a lefty batter though he threw righty.
Remember our home stadium right field fence, a ground rule double. Eastern's right field fence was a ground rule single. Pretty sweet!
Bilbo could thrown you out from center field, no question. Sleepy could hit big time, Ralph Conlon could pitch. Dear Bobby Cohen: sorry I spiked you in practice, did you get some stiches? Had to run down that pop-up, man; ws trying my best for Coach Heintel.
Memory fading, gotta split. Go COLTS!

Where can I find the no hitter I spoiled in 1975 against Eastern High at the West Ellipse? We lost, 1-0. This was a title game. I saw absolutely nothing in the Washington Post Archives today. Help me, someday!!!!
